In this master class, composer and Berklee alumnus Yuval Ron (score and songs for the 2007 Oscar-winning West Bank Story) will discuss and demonstrate the unique properties of Middle Eastern instruments and Eastern musical modes, as well as innovative approaches in film scoring. Ron has consulted with numerous film composers, including James Horner and Joel Goldsmith, on the use of ethnic instruments and Eastern musical styles. YRM Records has released Film Music of Yuval Ron: 20 Years of Innovative Scores. A TED talk presenter, his ensemble has toured the world and worked in film, TV, video games, theater, dance, and performance arts for more than 30 years.
