DESCRIPTION:Experience introspective and ecstatic practices of five ancient spiritual paths: Zen Buddhism\, Nada Yoga\, Kabbalistic Judaism\, Early Contemplative Christianity and Sufi-Islam. \nThis unique experiential seminar will journey deep into sacred music chanting\, movement\, and spiritual mindfulness practices\, drawing from the hidden wisdom of the traditions of the East. \nThese practices have been shown scientifically to impact the structure and function of the brain in ways that enhance memory\, cognition and awareness. These practices also promote healing by lowering stress\, anxiety\, depression\, and anger. \nThe activities are based on Yuval Ron’s work with master spiritual teachers of the East and neuroscientists of the West. DESCRIPTION:In observance of the UN International Day of Peace\, the interfaith world renowned Yuval Ron Ensemble spreads the message of this year’s theme\, Climate Action for Peace with mystical music from the middle east. \nSeptember 21\, 2019 from 7-10pm \nDoors 7:00 /// Opening talks 7:30 /// Concert 8:00 \nThe musicians are: \nYuval Ron – oud \nNajwa Gibran – voice \nNorik Manukyan – clarinet\, duduk\, zurna\, shvi \nJamie Papish – Persian daff\, dumbek\, riqq \nRosa Henderson – special guest vocalist  \nInspiring guest speakers – TBA \n  \nAbout Yuval Ron Ensemble\nFormed in 1999\, The Yuval Ron Ensemble endeavors to alleviate national\, racial\, religious and cultural divides by uniting the music and dance of the people of the Middle East into a unique mystical\, spiritual and inspiring musical celebration. The ensemble includes Jewish\, Christian and Muslim artists who have been actively involved in creating musical bridges between people of various faiths and ethnic groups worldwide. Led by Award winning composer Yuval Ron (music for Oscar winning film “West Bank Story”) the Ensemble has enjoyed overwhelming community support\, was chosen to be featured in PBS “Holiday Celebration” TV specials and was honored with the Los Angeles Treasures Award and the Lincoln/Standing Bear Gold Medal from the City of Lincoln\, NE in appreciation of its efforts for peace and justice worldwide. \nIn response to UN sustainable development goal #13\, Climate Action for Peace\, all proceeds will be donated to the Kingston Land Trust and Seed Song Farm and Center\, Kingston\, NY \nAbout KLT\nThe Kingston Land Trust is a nonprofit organization that protects environmentally and socially significant land for the common good. In addition to traditional land conservation\, we make urban land available for uses that have a public or ecological benefit\, and encourage participation and stewardship through innovative community engagement. \nAbout Seed Song Farm\nSeed Song Farm produces sustainably-grown vegetables\, herbs\, berries\, flowers\, and forest products\, available through CSA shares (weekly pickup of fresh produce at the farm) and local farmers’ markets. The Farm’s commitment to health and sustainability goes far beyond the exclusion of harmful chemicals\, as we will take the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York’s (NOFA-NY) Farmer’s Pledge. We use indigenous plants both for production\, consumption\, public activities\, and habitat for beneficial plants and insects\, including pollinators and natural insect predators. \nAbout Seed Song Center\nSeed Song Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides educational and cultural experiences of sustainable agriculture and agroecology. We offer all people access to quality food\, shared meals\, and farm-based arts and education experiences. By growing\, sharing\, and celebrating our food together\, we evolve our local culture toward an equitable and sustainable land access and stewardship. Seed Song Center organizes youth summer programs as well as farm-based educational events\, workshops and festivals. \n  \n
