By measuring the impact of sound on our brain waves\, the frequencies that vibrate inside the brain while we listen to various sounds\, scientists can now validate that indeed various sound waves have various impacts on our brain. In this course we will explore how composers use particular sound frequencies and music to modulate the brain requisiteness in order to affect our moods\, inner imagery\, and emotions; what kind of Brain Entertainment music may be used to achieve improved health\, well-being\, deep sleep\, and relaxation. Along with theory\, the course will include particular experiential learning on your own which may enrich your life\, and contribute to an increased sense of inner peace\, improved health\, and wellbeing. \nCourse Requirements \n1. In the 1970s researchers and composers have developed new ways of using sound to manipulate the function of the human brain in order to achieve deep relaxation\, deep sleep\, and sometimes even visionary and spiritual altered states of conciseness. \nCourse Objective \nChanging our brain waves frequencies with sound is called Brain Entrainment. By measuring the impact of sound on our brain waves\, the frequencies that vibrate inside the brain while we listen to various sounds\, scientists can now validate that indeed various sound waves have various impacts on our brain. In this course we will explore how composers use particular sound frequencies and music to modulate the brain requisiteness in order to affect our moods\, inner imagery\, and emotions; what kind of Brain Entertainment music may be used to achieve improved health\, well-being\, deep sleep\, and relaxation. Along with theory\, the course will include particular experiential learning on your own which may enrich your life\, and contribute to an increased sense of inner peace\, improved health\, and wellbeing. \nCourse Requirements \n1. Cambalache is a Chicano-Jarocho group based in East Los Angeles\, and led by César Castro. Cambalache plays and promotes traditional Son Jarocho through participatory performances\, so be prepared to catch that Cuban beat!\n\nCambalache was founded in 2009 by Cesar Castro (Master Luthier Sonero and Jarocho from Veracruz\, Mexico). Castro began studying Son Jarocho at the age of 11 with renowned harpist\, Andres Alfonso Vergara. He continued his studies with Gilberto Gutierrez of El Grupo Mono Blanco\, and at age\, 16\, he joined the group formally. With Mono Blanco\, Cesar not only traveled through Mexico\, the United Status and Europe\, he began teaching this cultural tradition in community centers\, schools and universities in Mexico City and Veracruz. From Gilberto Gutierrez he also learned laudería\, how to make instruments used in the son jarocho tradition. In 2001\, Cesar began working with Chicanos in Los Angeles through a binational Exchange\, Fandango Sin Fronteras that forged relationships cultivated through music\, focused on building community and awareness through social gatherings\, el fandango and participatory performance. Morrison performs in a wide array of genres from traditional Jazz and Blues\, to Gospel and Pop.  Her melodic voice\, with its two-and-a-half-octave range\, is known worldwide\, as are her rich\, unique\, soulful\, and highly spirited interpretations of both\, familiar Jazz and Blues classics and original contemporary tunes.  Equally as striking is Morrison’s ability to belt out down-home\, soul-stirring Blues.
